Plus Awesome Exclusive Merchandise Revealed

By Alex Burns

With the San Diego Comic-Con fast approaching we've got some cool news to bring you regarding the presence of 'Batman v Superman' at the pop culture showcase. Warner Bros. are set for a presentation in Hall H on June 11th around 10:30 am Pacific Time so that's pretty much 18:30 for us  waiting here in the UK. The movie studio has unveiled plans for their panel where they intend to showcase their upcoming slate of movies, first up on that slate is of course 'Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice' and we're bound to be in store for a few surprises, new footage perhaps (crosses fingers). The official Warner Bros. Statement reads as follows:

"First up will be director Zack Snyder and stars Ben Affleck and Henry Cavill for 'Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice'. They will be joined by their co-stars Amy Adams, Jesse Eisenberg, Jeremy Irons, Holly Hunter and Gal Gadot for a sneak peek at the 2016 film that brings the Super Heroes together on the big screen for the very first time"

Sa-weet! This will be the first time the main cast will be together on stage following last years appearance in which, Cavill, Affleck and Gadot gave a smile and wave to fans.

Remember this?
It's great that we'll get a look at the rest of actors and we're sure to learn more about the new versions of other iconic characters like Lex Luthor and Alfred Pennyworth. Warner Bros are really stepping up their Comic-Con presence as the previous Christopher Nolan Bat-Films never really had much to do with the event. In acknowledgement of the promotional importance of the convention Sue Kroll, President, Worldwide Marketing and International Distribution, stated:

“Comic-Con provides us a fantastic opportunity to interact with the fans and this year, as with every year, our aim is to surpass their expectations. We’re also thrilled to give our filmmakers and talent a chance to experience the unique energy and enthusiasm of Comic-Con.”

We can't wait for the panel to begin and make sure you are keeping an eye online when the event begins, while we're waiting for the main event take a look at some awesome 'Batman v Superman' merchandise that will be either on sale or on show at the convention.

First up is this awesome action figure set featuring the Dark Knight and Man of Steel in Battle! The toys, designed by Mattel, show off the movie costumes and feature fabric capes as well as emblems that join together to form the film's logo as a display base. The action figure two-pack comes with some pretty epic packaging that lights up and plays audio straight from the movie.

If you're wondering where Gal Gadot's Wonder Woman is in all this, well wonder no more, the Amazon Princess has been given the full on Barbie treatment and the results are actually pretty cool, take a look.

For Batmobile enthusiast there's a cool Hot Wheels version based on Batman's new ride and it even comes in a sweet limited edition package.

However, if you happen to actually be a billionaire Playboy yourself then you may be more interested in the life-sized Hot Wheels build of a Twin Mill Car, it looks like the Batmobile and is covered in Superman shields, it's pretty freaking epic.

Another cool piece is the announcement is that Ben Affleck's Batman is getting the LEGO treatment and his Batmobile will be available for assembly world wide January 1st, 2016. The Batmobile set will be on show at the convention with two more characters and another vehicle yet to be revealed.

Last but not least is the Pop Vinyl take on Batman and Superman as they appear in the film. The ever popular collectibles manage to look awesome, heroic, fun and harmless all at the same time and I will most definitely be parting with my cash to bring a set home.

Well hopefully there's enough there for you guys to chew on until the panel at Hall h gets under way, we're gonna have plenty more from San Diego as the event progresses so keep it locked here at Cape and Cowl.
