New Details Emerge For Warner Bros' "The Flash" Movie

Writer Phil Lord Gives An Update On The Project

It was announced last month that Phil Lord and Chris Miller (The LEGO Movie, 21 Jump Street) are now handling writing duties on Warner Bros. Pictures’ upcoming big screen take DC Comics' The Flash, with Ezra Miller (The Perks of Being a Wallflower) confirmed in the lead role. As DC have already launched a hugely successful TV version of The Flash on The CW, fans speculated as to whether the show and film would connect or not. Most definitely not has been the response from DC who seem keen to keep their TV and Cinematic Universes separate. Exactly which version of the character was also in question, Lord recently announced that Miller will likely be playing a new iteration of Barry Allen as opposed to one of the other characters who have appeared as the hero. “We’re trying to break a story,” says Lord. “It’s interesting, because there’s a really popular TV show out there, and we’re trying to carve out space for the movie that’s apart from that. I think we’re doing alright. …I believe [our Flash] is going to be Barry Allen. …We’re more trying to stick with the cinematic universe… it really is its own thing and is kind of a stand-alone movie. We’re just trying to think of the best story. I think you guys will like it, it’s kind of a different take on superhero stuff. I’m optimistic!”

Ezra Miller is also expected to appear as Allen in "Justice League Part One" there's even rumours he could appear alongside Ben Affleck and Henry Cavill in next year’s "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice" but take that with a pinch of salt. "The Flash" is set for release March 23, 2018 in the meantime keep it locked here at Cape and Cowl.
